MRS MELISSA/Owner

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Melissa moved to Florida after graduating high school. Soon after, she married and became a homeschooling stay-at-home mom to three children, all while nurturing her dream of becoming a teacher. Her love for art, especially painting, was always present.
In 2008, Melissa decided to devote more time to painting, turning her passion into a small business with numerous commissions. With over 14 years of experience as an artist, Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge and creativity to our studio. Her dedication to art and inspiring children's creativity has been instrumental in helping the studio thrive. She is excited to merge her two greatest passions—art and teaching—to provide an enriching and enjoyable experience for all our students.

Recently, I've also become the art teacher at Roberts Academy and am loving getting to be with kiddos everyday!

I started out as a student at the art studio and soon started volunteering there. After volunteering there for a while, I got the opportunity to be hired as an assistant! I now consider it as my home away from home.
I love watching the kids excel in art and watching them as they grow up and become better artist everyday.

I have always had a love for art. I would watch Bob Ross as a child; admiring his beautiful paintings and gentle demeanor. When I was in elementary school I would draw characters from my favorite movies and TV shows and sleep next to my sketchbook and pencil boxes

As I grew older I continued to draw as a way to express myself and to capture the beauty that was around me. In middle school I had one of my art pieces shown in an exhibit and it really boosted my confidence as an artist. It was in high school when I have developed a love for painting. When I was thinking about college I decided wanted to pursue art and so acquired a Bachelor's in Studio Art with and emphasis in painting.
Now I want to do nothing more than to share my love of art with the world teaching people of all ages the techniques of Art, its communication abilities, and its means of providing personal enrichment.

I have attended classes at the Art Centric Studio since I was little, and have always loved everything about it. For multiple years, I’ve volunteered at the summer camps, and now, I am so excited to become a studio assistant!
I enjoy assisting the kids in creating their very own art projects and learning more about art.

I grew up right here in Lakeland! As I was deciding on a career, I had hopes of finding something that would blend my love for science and technology with art and creativity. I found interior design! After finishing my degree in interior design, I worked with an architect here in town designing mostly commercial spaces. It was a lot of fun!
It was during that time I met my wonderful husband and got married. Once my first baby was born, I decided to stay home. Since then, we have added 2 more babies to our family and started homeschooling.
My favorite things to do are travel and create things and I'm slowly but surely turning from someone who killed every plant I owned into a plant lady.
